about

This mixtape came about when I started, out of convenience (and probably laziness), to record new songs I was working on using the "voice memo" app on my phone. I recorded a cover of "Police and Thieves" on my phone one morning with the intention of re-recording the cover if I liked how it was sounding using better equipment. It turned out that I liked the raw sound that I was able to get from my phone, reminding me of old home recordings we would do on tape, and became interested in doing more "phone recordings". This birthed the "Telephone Sessions". These songs have no overdubs and minimal effects added (a little reverb and eq). Click on each song to see a little commentary about the song and why I chose it.
