about

I've always loved this song. Made famous, at least to my knowledge, by the version that the Clash recorded on their first record, the original by Junior Marvin is one of those great old school reggae tunes. I was listening the Clash's first record on vinyl, when I thought I'd like to figure out how to play this song. I was just strumming along to get the words down, and I liked the more folky sound I was getting, instead of playing the reggae rhythm. This was recorded in one take. Though I go off key in a few spots, I liked the energy and spontaneity, so this is the version I went with.
