about

This song is originally off Mike Ness' (of Social Distortion) first solo record "Cheating at Solitaire". When I was in high school I picked up that record when it first came out and at the time I thought it was a huge departure from Mike's work with Social D. In retrospective, the songs on that record really are the roots of Social D's sound, and this song in particular is a gem. It is a pretty simple and great love song. My version is pretty similar to the original, as I think the straightforwardness is what really works about the song. Though I really liked the energy of my first take, I had to record it a couple more times, cause in the first take I forgot some of the words.
